Live and Free: Singer-Songwriters in Manhattan

Lyrics and melody are helping with the healing process during these difficult times. Increasingly, local singer-songwriters are resurfacing resiliently. Many of the braver musicians are committing themselves to finding the avenues that introduce their musical passions to whatever audiences they can muster. Their invisible stage is the concrete ground in public parks, street curbs, subway stations, and sidewalk cafes. The performances are free to the public, as the musicians encourage their listeners to donate in their tip bucket or online via Venmo and PayPal.

The following 10 singer-songwriters left positive impressions on their New York City audiences this month. Although their live sets featured many cover songs, most of these artists have original songs posted on their websites and social media. They gladly sang their compositions upon request.
