Jesse Malin and
his band led a tribute to the music of the late Joe Strummer and the Clash
at the Bowery Ballroom on August 25,
2018. Celebrated four days after Strummer would have turned 66, Summer
StrummerJam NYC benefited the Joe Strummer Foundation. This was the second of
what is becoming an annual series; Malin led a similar event last summer in
Asbury Park, New Jersey, which featured guest performances by Brian Fallon, Craig Finn, Ted Leo, and
other musicians.
